Which device should I start with?
Depends on the area. For a specific spot — an ankle, a knee, the lower back — a wrap like the Flex Light or Ember Light is the direct answer. For face and skin, the Halo Light or Vista Light. For larger areas and hands-free sessions, a lamp or panel.
How often should I use it?
Most protocols in the literature use short, regular sessions rather than long, occasional ones. Follow the time and distance in your device manual. Longer sessions are not better sessions.
Will I feel anything?
Gentle warmth, usually. Red light therapy isn't heat therapy — if a device is getting genuinely hot, something is wrong.
Is it safe for my eyes?
Don't stare into the LEDs. Bright light is uncomfortable and there's no benefit to looking at the source. Devices designed for the eye area, like the Vista Light, are built with that in mind; general panels are not.
Do I need eye protection?
Panels and lamps ship with guidance on this. As a rule: close your eyes or use the supplied protection when a panel is aimed at your face.
How long until I notice something?
Honestly: it varies, and for some people it won't be dramatic. Studies that report effects generally run for weeks, not days. Treat it as a habit, not a treatment course.
Who shouldn't use these devices?
If you're pregnant, taking photosensitising medication, living with a photosensitive skin condition or an eye condition, or recovering from an injury — check with a doctor first. These are wellness devices, not medical devices, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
