Panel, lamp or wrap? Choosing your first device

PHŌRMA Stand Light red and infrared floor lamp

People overthink wavelengths and underthink format. The device you still use in three months is the one that fits your evening.

01

Wraps — when you can point at the spot

If the target has an address — an ankle, a knee, a lower back — wear the light on it. Contact removes the distance problem entirely, which is the variable people get wrong most often.

It also leaves your hands free, which quietly decides whether the habit survives past week two.

02

Handheld — for skin and detail

Small, precise, and you decide exactly where the light lands. Ideal for the face and for anything that needs to be worked over rather than covered.

The trade-off is honest: you are holding it, so sessions stay short by nature. That suits the surface targets these devices are built for.

03

Lamps — for the time you were already sitting still

A lamp on a stand or an arm lets you read, work, or do nothing at all while the light does its part. Nothing to hold, nothing to strap on.

Positioning is adjustable, and that matters more than most people realise: distance drives how much energy actually reaches you.

04

Panels — for area

The largest coverage per session. Mount it, stand in front of it, done. This is the right answer when the target is a whole back, or when you want to cover several muscle groups without moving a device around the room.

One joint, wear it. Face, hold it. Already sitting, a lamp. Whole back, a panel.
